Why is it good to be physically active?

Physical activity can be a real lifesaver. It can:

  • Help build and keep healthy bones, muscles, and joints.
  • Help you concentrate better at work.
  • Help your child focus better at school.

How much physical activity?

  • To take care of your health and reduce the risk of serious health problems, you need at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity every day.
  • To keep weight under control, you need 60 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity on most days of the week.

  • Children need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day to maintain their health.
